Industrial Heritage Reimagined

Located within the historic walls of a repurposed prison in Sinop, this commercial renovation project stands as a masterful dialogue between architectural heritage and modern luxury. Our design focused on the transformation of the lobby and lounge areas, where the primary objective was to honor the building’s raw, industrial soul while introducing a sophisticated contemporary layer. By treating the stone and metal textures as a historical canvas, we implemented a multi-functional lighting strategy that respects the site’s past while providing the versatility required for a high-traffic commercial and exhibition hub.

The technical execution centered on an "Industrial-Chic" aesthetic, utilizing specialized luminaires that harmonize with the structural elements of the renovation. We employed a layered approach, combining rhythmic accent lighting to highlight the rugged textures of the original walls with minimalist, high-performance fixtures for the lounge areas. This creates a captivating atmospheric contrast, where the cold history of the prison is softened by the warmth of modern hospitality. The result is a highly adaptive environment that can transition from a bright, professional lobby to a moody, intimate lounge, ensuring that the Sinop project remains a timeless landmark of adaptive reuse and lighting innovation.
