DAYLIGHT ANALYSIS & CONSULTANCY

Daylight analysis evaluates the impact of sunlight on a building's mass over a one-year period, considering its location, site characteristics, and climate data. This analysis is based on four key criteria:

  • Spatial Daylight Autonomy (sDA): Assesses whether interior spaces receive sufficient daylight.

  • Annual Sunlight Exposure (ASE): Evaluates the risk of excessive sunlight exposure.

  • Useful Daylight Illuminance (UDI): Measures the amount of daylight that is considered beneficial and usable.

  • Glare Index: Analyzes the potential for glare discomfort caused by daylight.

These assessments help inform architectural decisions, including facade design and shading strategies, to optimize daylight performance and enhance indoor comfort. Consulting services are provided to support these design choices effectively.
